Minted in Germany by the Bavarian State Mint, these 2013 One Ounce Silver Somalian Elephant Coins are sure to be popular among coin collectors due to their magnificently struck design. Containing 99% fine silver, each one ounce Elephant Coin features two adult elephants and one young elephant at waters edge underneath a Savannah tree. The obverse also depicts the words “African Wildlife,” “Elephant,” and “1 oz Ag 999” on the outer rim. The reverse features two leopards holding up a shield with a star in the center. Below the leopards are two palm leaves over intertwining ribbon and spears. The coin is dated 2013 and contains the words “Somali Republic” and “100 Shillings” around the reverse design. This year (2013) is one of the best elephant coin compare with other years. The elephants look more realistic than any other years. I have coins from year 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. This is the best looking one than any of the coins from the years mentioned above.
