2013 1.5 oz Silver Canadian $8 Polar Bear - Secondary Market - Spots

The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) has released its first and currently its only 1.5 oz .9999 fine silver bullion coin the (Silver Polar Bear Coin). This is the first time the mint has released a 1.5 oz silver bullion coin as the mint usually releases bullion coins like the silver maple leaf series in a 1 Troy oz weight. The reverse design of this new silver coin features a single polar bear roaming across the arctic ice sheet. Each of these coins do have a $8 face value, were as the 1oz silver maple leaf coin has a face value of $5. The design on the observe of this released bullion coin features the image of Queen Elizabeth II and was designed by Susanna Blunt. This polar bear coin can be bought from any good bullion dealer as they cannot be bought directly from the Canadian Mint itself. Mintage figures for the silver polar bear coin can vary as it is believed that as long as there is demand for the coin they will keep minting, any finalized figures released will be added to this site when available. These 1.5 oz Silver Polar Bears are not part of the recently released Canadian coin series, like the Canadian Wildlife Series released from 2011 till 2013, as these coins were all released as only 1oz silver bullion coins.
